REFINISHING*: We evaluate each piece of furniture or woodwork according to its function, structural condition and current finish, then decide how best to deliver to our customers the desired final appearance. While we can refinish full furniture sets (i.e.: bedroom or dining room), sometimes a whole set doesn't need to be redone. We can instead treat just damaged areas. By just restoring a dresser top or some drawer fronts we can revive the look of a bedroom set without the full cost of refinishing all the pieces. All factors are considered when determining how best to meet your needs.
*If you have individual pieces that are not part of a furniture grouping but you would like them to be,we can closely match the color and finish to make it appear as though they are part of the set.
REPAIRS: From simple chair re-gluing to rebuilding the bed your child used as a trampoline, our staff is trained to meet your repair needs. We can restore missing carvings, repair veneer, make turnings, gesso, scratches, chips, burns, and more. (Click here to see one of our craftsmen working on a turning.)
STRIPPING: We offer hand stripping of delicate furniture, a flow over method for normal striping and dip stripping for doors, windows and other architectural pieces such as moldings and railings.
UPHOLSTERY: We upholster both residential and commercial items, and have upholstered some of Worcester County's finer heirlooms and antiques. We upholster living room furniture, medical equipment, hotel furnishings, awnings, boats, automobiles, airplanes, and more. We do foam replacement, in-home repair and replacement of worn or damaged areas. We offer a large selection of fabrics, or use your own. We also have extensive experience with leather upholstery and repair.
IN HOME REPAIR & REFINISHING: Leather cleaning and repair, recliner mechanism repair and replacement, frame repair, touch up to nicks, dents and scratches, furniture re-conditioning and cleaning, buffing out of light scuffs and scratches on furniture tops. We can also strip and refinish your kitchen cabinets on-site, as well as other architectural elements.
MOVING CLAIMS: We can evaluate your moving damage and provide a comprehensive report for submission to your moving company. We have a working relationship with most major carriers. Our evaluation of moving, water or fire damage will be fair and accurate.
CHAIR CANING: We offer pressed cane, hand caning, flat reed weaving, rush seats, porch weave, herring bone weave, Danish cord and more.
LEATHER CLEANING and REPAIR: Leather furniture is a wise investment. The cost of these items reflects the fact that they are manufactured to last for years and years. However, without proper care you can significantly shorten their life. It is essential that you correctly remove dust, body oils and stains. In addition to correctly cleaning leather it must be reconditioned. Our technicians are trained to recondition, as well as re-color worn areas, repair holes, punctures and cuts.
